For 10 years, Mastercard has been exploring global travel trends and compiling a list of the world's most visited cities (Global Destination Cities Index). This year's rating, which rated 200 cities based on the number of travelers and their spending, shows that the number of tourists traveling more than one day increased by 76% compared to 2009. Especially the rapid dynamics are in the Asia-Pacific region.

Bangkok became for the fourth time number one tourist destination by number of visitors from abroad per year. Last year, the city was visited by more than 22 million tourists. Paris and London, which swapped places this year, ranked second and third pleces with more than 19 million tourists each. The longest tourists stays are in Antalya (Turkey) and New York (USA) - 14 and 8 nights respectively. Ukraine is among the top 3 countries from which tourists come to a Turkish resort - almost 6% of Ukrainians are among tourists in Antalya.
The amount of money spent by tourists
If you look at cities by the amount of money spent by tourists, the ranking is headed by Dubai, where tourists spend an average of $ 533 per day. Mecca remains in second place for the second consecutive year. Bangkok сompletes top three.
