Full Age of the Favourite Show On October 4 through 6, the International Exhibition Centre at 15 Brovarsky Ave. in Kyiv was hosting with great success the 18th International Ukraine’2011 Travel Market. Organizer is AUTOEXPO Ukrainian Exhibition Company supported by Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, and Tourism and Resorts Public Department of Ukraine. The 18th fall edition of Ukraine’2011, a venue of travel trade professionals, was really the most outstanding holiday as well as a well-organized forum. Abundant program of the Travel Market, experience of organizers, readiness and professionalism of exhibitors, and concern of travel industry executives were the components of Ukraine’2011 success. The level of officials, who addressed their welcomes to organizers, participants and guests of the event, proved once again the authority of UKRAINE Travel Market domestically and internationally. These are UNWTO Secretary General, Chairman of the International Tourism and Trade Fairs Association, and Minister of Culture of Ukraine. Esteemed community organizations of Ukraine such as Tourism & Resorts Public Department and Association of Hotel Unions & City Hotels of Ukraine welcomed the Travel Market as well. All travel destinations of the Globe Ukraine’2011 Travel Market has the official international status and membership in the International Travel Trade Fairs Association (ITTFA). The event is also included in UNWTO’s Calendar. As far as for many years the Travel Market demonstrates a good fusion of offers from domestic leisure industry with top quality international tourism product, the exhibiting in Ukraine’2011 is half the battle for success and perfection of the Ukrainian tourism infrastructure as well as the opportunity to manifest themselves to the whole world. Domestic travel trade professionals use their unique chance at this particular event in order to join the leading world operators owing to EURO’2012 Football Championship. Travel Market in figures The 18th International Ukraine’2011 Travel Market presented over 600 companies from 40 countries. The following countries erected community set-ups to show their travel opportunities: Azerbaijan, Argentina, Bulgaria, Dubai, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Cyprus, Mexico, Palestine, Poland, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Slovakia, Hungary, Finland and others. Many national tourism boards of longstanding participants of the show enhanced their exhibits, some of them by several times. The Ukrainian regions with a notable tourism opportunities and traditions are the integral part of the show, including Zakarpatta, Ternopil, Lviv, Kyiv and Bukovyna as well as popular resorts and sanatoria of Ukraine. On October 4, there was a Day of Crimea at the Travel Market featuring the Crimean community set-up thoroughly arranged. After all, the 18th International Ukraine’2011 Travel Market is a demonstration of modern trends of the world tourism. The gross exhibition area of Ukraine’2011 was 8,000 sq. m in the expo-block 3 and outdoors of the International Exhibition Centre. All available conference rooms were enabled for the show. The official ceremonial opening The official ceremonial opening of the 18th International Ukraine’2011 Travel Market took place on October 4. The following persons attended the ceremony: People’s Deputy of Ukraine, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee in Charge of National Security and Defense Valentine Zubov, Acting Chairman of Tourism & Resorts Public Department of Ukraine Sergei Semkin, Immediate Post Minister of Tourism & Resorts of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Alexander Liyev, Ambassador of Ukraine, Chairman of the Tourism Board since 2000 till 2005 Valeriy Tsybukh, Deputy Principal of the Central Board - Principal of Tourism, Hotel Business and Resorts under the Kyiv City State Administration Nickolai Gritsyk, Chairman of the Managing Board, Director General of the Association of Hotel Unions and City Hotels of Ukraine Nickolai Yevdokimenko, Chairman of Tourism & Resorts Board Eugene Samartsev, Director General of AUTOEXPO Alexander Haraschenko as well as ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps of Poland, Argentine, Mexico, Palestine and other officials. In speeches, the honorary guests congratulated the organizers and exhibitors of the Travel Market on adult age and noted the uniqueness and progress of the show during the years of its existence. Speakers, People’s Deputy of Ukraine Valentine Zubov, in particular, emphasized that the development of the domestic tourism infrastructure as one of the components of the national economy and a strengthening factor promoting the authority of Ukraine worldwide has an extraordinary importance. Media at Ukraine’2011 Travel Market The Travel Market has been always a notable phenomenon in the Ukrainian community. The 98 journalists from 65 editorial offices accredited at the Press Center of the Travel Market. During the fair, the information agencies of Ukraine were delivering the news about its going. Ukrainian Tourism Newspaper, Mizhnarodny Tourism, Mandry, Novyny Tourbiznesu, Robinson, Ukrainian Tourism, Bolshaya Progulka, and other editions make ready ample publications about events at the Travel Market. The items on opening and going of the show were broadcasted by several Ukrainian TV and Radio channels. Ukraine’2011 Travel Market as a representative incarnation of B2B format Visiting to exhibit and attending seminars are a compulsory daily routine of travel industry chiefs, public agents of all levels, executives of travel agencies from all over the country. Not too many fairs in the country have such a numerous and professional audience that gains in quality after a number of years. Continuous growth of educational and intellectual component of the fair such as the increase in number of seminars, trainings, masterclasses, presentations and other measures is obvious. The amount of mentioned events went up by 50% in comparison with Ukraine’2010. This is the answer to today’s challenges and acknowledgement of uniqueness and importance of the Travel Market program for the tourism industry professionals. In general, seminars, presentations, masterclasses and trainings within the Travel Market occupied for two days all acting conference rooms of the International Exhibition Centre, the overwhelming majority of which was very popular among the experts. Almost 25,000 trade visitors came to see the exhibit and attend supporting events. Diverse business events were organized by exhibition steering committee, domestic and overseas exhibitors, public institutions and community organizations. These figures in the best way illustrate the apprehension of Ukraine’s image by trade people and competitors of the tourism market as a successfully conceptual combination of a venue of travel trade people and an outstanding tourism fair with diversity of offers from all over the world. The general public also takes the Travel Market as an original national show promoting preservation and popularization of Ukrainian culture and folk traditions. Ceremonial closing On October 6, at the ceremonial closing of the event, organizers honored the best booths and displays of the Travel Market as well as quality of tourism products with prizes and diplomas. The following persons attended the official ceremonial closing: Director General of AUTOEXPO Alexander Haraschenko, Chairman of Tourism & Resorts Board Eugene Samartsev and Project Manager Zhanna Rudenko. Alongside of the abundant program of seminars and presentations, exciting booths and diversity of offers, the visitors could enjoy additional I&R services, which supplemented the traditional guidebook. The social project of Ukrainian photographers “Beauty of Ukraine in Focus” within the Travel Market also aroused interest of visitors. They had a chance to see the 20 photos by Oleg Zharia.
